Project Description

Pedigree

Sire: KSU Bounty Hunter 611

Dam: Big-Gully Gold Dust Lassy 217R

517U is breeding to type, his progeny all display the exceptional weight-for-age and muscle pattern that we admired in him. His sons are breeding to the specification that the commercial industry is demanding, increased carcase and yield. 517U was Canadian 2010 Agribition RBC Supreme Challenge and 150th Anniversary National Hereford Show Champion. He was Supreme winner over 42 Champion Bulls of 13 breeds from 10 Shows. After visiting 23 herds in Canada during 2009 we thought 517U’s sire, KSU Bounty Hunter 611, had the most promising progeny group. We were therefore keen to secure the rights in this sire.

We were delighted to see him take out the Champion Horned Hereford Bull at the World Hereford Conference Show in 2012. We are excited about the contribution this outcross sire is making to our herd. Eight sons have been offered in our Hereford National (Wodonga) teams to date including Mawarra Blitz’em, $13,000 Reserve Intermediate Champion 2014 and $14,000 Senior and Reserve Grand Champion 2015, Mawarra Calibre. Another will represent him in our 2018 Herefords Australia National (Wodonga) team,  Lot 208 Mawarra Florida (AI) (H#).  517U’s 30 sons have sold to $17,000 (twice) to record an average of $6,350. We currently have 14 daughters retained in herd and a son Class Act.
