The Haven
We would like to congratulate everyone at Mawarra on their 50th Anniversary Sale. It is a great feat to keep producing quality cattle at the top end of the beef industry for such a period of time.
At The Haven we started using Mawarra genetics over 12 years ago with M. Vice Admiral who made a great impression on our cow herd adding functionality
and consistency. We then used M. Aftershock who has left us cows with great volume and perfect udders, and bulls with presence and power including our young
stud sire, Haven Voltage. In 2021 we were fortunate to secure the semen rights for M. Influential whose calves are just arriving and look very promising, just as we have come to expect from Mawarra Genetics.
Well done and good luck with the next 50 years!
Kind regards
Edward Lewis

“After a wonderful week at the Hereford National show, a little time to reflect on where our program is at, and be thankful for the support and advice that has helped us along the way.
As far as the results this week, we sold our bull for $20,000 to a really well respected commercial program, exactly the type of clients we would like to work with. We had some great conversations with previous bull purchasers who are happy with how our bulls are working for them. A week really exceeding our hopes/expectations.
Upon reflection we are so pleased with the Hereford herd we are building, we are so proud of our wonderful friends at Mawarra Genetics, their results yesterday only reflect what we already believe, that they are the best. Almost every year there has been open auction opportunities to purchase out of the heart of their herd, often some of their very best as shown with their results yesterday.
The photo of the cow here I took yesterday in our paddock, she is Mawarra Tabitha 6, we purchased her from their last female sale. Yesterday in the Mawarra team she had a son and 3 grandsons sell to $130,000! They were telling the truth when in their catalog for that female sale they stated Tabitha 6 was probably the best Poll cow they had bred to that point.
And equally we are super proud of the Mawarra Evolution progeny, with our son selling for our record price of $20,000 and 2 further sons selling as part of the Mawarra team topping at $60,000. We purchased him 5 years ago at the National sale and tragically lost him suddenly two years ago, the photo of him below was so typical of him out with cows. A bull that holds a very special place in our herds foundation(and my heart), and therefore we are so pleased his qualities are being recognised in his progeny.”
